{422.} Instruments of Expression in Cultural Anthropology

CHAPTERS

Language, music, movement and dance have a relatively greater role in expressing and conveying folklore than they do in material and social culture. Therefore a few remarks shall be made in relation to them by way of introduction, sufficient to enable a more complete recognition of what follows. We must emphasize that language, music and dance are much more than just tools of expression, they are closely connected with the ethnic characteristics of the Hungarian people. Relics of centuries have been preserved through them, with new elements added by way of borrowing traits or by independent development. This is why the mentioned traits belong to the most prominent features of the Hungarians at large and of specific regions as well.
