Animal Husbandry

CHAPTERS

The raw material originating from animals is used partly as food, partly as clothing. Just as in the case of vegetable products, the method of acquisition can take on the character of food gathering, in the sense that man only takes away from nature, but does not take care of reproduction. Alternatively, it may have the character of breeding, when man cares for the animal, provides it with fodder, and selects the best specimens for further breeding. In the areas of apiculture, hunting, and fishing, all of which we shall discuss below, we can find both stages of development, but we can talk only about the second method in regard to animal husbandry.
